Gaugebærere

Gaugebærere is a term used in Norwegian folklore to describe the mythical beings believed to be responsible for the changes that take place in the earth and the weather during the spring thaw. These creatures are said to bring about the melting of snow and ice, as well as the growth of new plants and the renewal of life.

According to folkloric accounts, the gaugebærere were believed to be malevolent beings that delighted in causing chaos and destruction. They were said to haunt the mountainous regions of Norway, where they would stir up the earth and bring about sudden changes in the weather.
