Gainsborough

Gainsborough is a market town and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies on the River Trent and serves as a local commercial and administrative centre for the surrounding area. The town is about 25 miles west of Lincoln and has long-standing market and trading traditions dating to the medieval period.

Historically, Gainsborough grew as a market town with a historic core centred on a market square. One of the town's notable landmarks is Gainsborough Old Hall, a mid-15th-century moated manor house that is among the best-preserved medieval houses in England.
