Frekvenciatérbeli, often translated as frequency domain, is a concept used in signal processing and other scientific fields to represent a signal as a function of frequency. Instead of looking at how a signal changes over time (the time domain), we analyze its constituent frequencies and their amplitudes. This transformation is typically achieved using mathematical tools like the Fourier Transform.

In the frequency domain, a complex signal is broken down into a sum of simpler sinusoidal waves of different frequencies. Each frequency component has a corresponding amplitude and phase, which indicate how strongly that frequency contributes to the overall signal and at what point in its cycle it begins. Visualizing a signal in the frequency domain often involves a spectrum, where the x-axis represents frequency and the y-axis represents amplitude or power.

Analyzing signals in the frequency domain can reveal characteristics that are not easily observed in the time domain. For instance, it's straightforward to identify periodic components, noise at specific frequencies, or the bandwidth of a signal. This approach is widely applied in areas such as audio processing, telecommunications, image analysis, and control systems to understand, filter, and manipulate signals effectively. The transition between the time domain and frequency domain is fundamental to many signal processing techniques.
