Fredholmoperátorrá is a concept in functional analysis, specifically concerning linear operators between Banach spaces. An operator T: X -> Y, where X and Y are Banach spaces, is called a Fredholm operator if it satisfies three conditions. First, the image of T, denoted as Im(T), must be a closed subspace of Y. Second, the kernel of T, Ker(T), which is the set of all x in X such that T(x) = 0, must have finite dimension. Third, the dimension of the quotient space Y/Im(T) must also be finite.
