Formannskapet

Formannskapet, or the executive committee, is a standing political committee in Norwegian municipalities formed by the municipal council. Its primary role is to prepare matters for the municipal council and to assist in steering the administration between full council meetings. The committee can handle issues within the framework delegated by the council and the municipal regulations and may decide on routine matters or urgent issues within that framework.
