Flydubai

Flydubai is a Dubai-based airline established by the Government of Dubai to expand air travel and stimulate the emirate’s economy. It began operations in 2009 and operates as a low-cost carrier, serving a network of destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Indian subcontinent.

Headquartered in Dubai, its main hub is Dubai International Airport. The airline operates an all-Boeing fleet comprising 737-800s and 737 MAX 8s, focused on short- to medium-haul routes.

Its business model centers on point-to-point service with optional connections to Emirates’ global network, pursuant to a commercial agreement that allows transfer passengers to connect to a broader network.

Flydubai also operates a freight division, flydubai Cargo, providing cargo services on select routes in addition to passenger services.

Ownership and role: flydubai is owned by the Government of Dubai. As part of Dubai’s broader aviation strategy, the carrier complements larger carriers and supports tourism and trade by increasing regional and international connectivity.
