Fjölfrumungar

Fjölfrumungar is the Icelandic term for multicellular organisms. These are organisms that consist of more than one cell, often with specialized cells that perform specific functions. This contrasts with unicellular organisms, which are made up of a single cell. The transition from unicellularity to multicellularity was a significant evolutionary step, allowing for greater complexity and diversity of life.
