Finansinstrumentstradekommissionens
Finansinstrumentstradekommissionen, often abbreviated as FTK, was a Swedish governmental agency responsible for overseeing trading in financial instruments. Its primary mandate was to ensure the fairness, transparency, and efficiency of the Swedish securities market. The FTK's activities included regulating stock exchanges, financial advisors, and other market participants. It also played a crucial role in enforcing laws and regulations related to securities trading, aiming to protect investors and maintain market integrity. The agency was established to adapt to the evolving financial landscape and to align Swedish regulations with international standards. Its work involved monitoring market activities, investigating potential misconduct, and imposing sanctions when necessary. The Finansinstrumentstradekommissionen was part of Sweden's broader financial regulatory framework, working in conjunction with other authorities to safeguard the stability of the financial system. It was dissolved and its functions were largely transferred to Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority) in 2008 as part of a governmental reform aimed at consolidating financial supervision.
