Fenüülester
Fenüülester is a term that can refer to a class of organic compounds or a specific compound within that class. In general organic chemistry, a fenüülester is an ester where one of the organic groups attached to the ester functional group contains a phenyl ring. The phenyl ring is a benzene ring, which is a six-carbon aromatic ring. Thus, a fenüülester will have the general structure R-COO-Ph or Ph-COO-R, where R is an alkyl or aryl group and Ph represents a phenyl group.
