Fejhasnyálmirigy refers to the head of the pancreas, which is the widest part of this organ. It is located in the curve of the duodenum, the first section of the small intestine. The head of the pancreas is crucial as it contains the pancreatic duct, which carries digestive enzymes from the pancreas to the duodenum, and the common bile duct, which carries bile from the liver and gallbladder.

This anatomical region plays a vital role in digestion and metabolism. The exocrine function of the pancreas, facilitated by secretions from the head and body, involves the production of enzymes like amylase, lipase, and proteases, essential for breaking down carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Blockage of the pancreatic or common bile duct in this area can cause jaundice, as bile cannot reach the intestine.
