Fcerep4
Fcerep4 is a gene that encodes a protein belonging to the Fc receptor-like (FCRL) family. These proteins are primarily expressed on the surface of cells of the immune system, particularly B lymphocytes. The FCRL family is characterized by the presence of immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation (ITAM) and inhibitory (ITIM) motifs within their cytoplasmic tails, suggesting a role in regulating immune cell signaling.
The exact function of Fcerep4 is still under investigation, but research indicates it may play a role
Alterations in Fcerep4 expression or function have been linked to certain autoimmune diseases and B cell malignancies.
