Fasciasta

Fasciasta is a fictional species of insectoid creature originating from the planet Xylos. They are characterized by their chitinous exoskeletons, which range in color from deep blues to vibrant greens, and their six multi-jointed limbs. Fasciasta possess compound eyes that grant them a wide field of vision and two prominent antennae used for sensing vibrations and chemical signals in their environment. Their diet consists primarily of Xylos's abundant fungal growths, which they process using specialized mandibles.

Socially, Fasciasta live in complex hive-like structures called "chitin-cities," constructed from a secreted resinous material. These cities are organized hierarchically, with a central queen responsible for reproduction and worker castes dedicated to foraging, defense, and construction. Communication within the hive is believed to occur through a combination of pheromones and subtle antennal movements. While generally peaceful and focused on their colony's survival, Fasciasta have been known to exhibit territorial aggression when their chitin-cities are threatened. Their lifecycle involves a larval stage, followed by a pupal phase, and finally metamorphosis into their adult form.
