Faktorproteinen
Faktorproteinen, also known as clotting factors, are a group of proteins in the blood plasma that are essential for hemostasis, the process of stopping bleeding. These proteins work in a complex cascade, where each factor activates the next in a specific sequence, ultimately leading to the formation of a fibrin clot. This clot seals off damaged blood vessels, preventing excessive blood loss.
There are numerous clotting factors, each designated by a Roman numeral, such as Factor I (fibrinogen), Factor
The coagulation cascade is broadly divided into two pathways: the intrinsic pathway and the extrinsic pathway.
