Fagositozdan

Fagositozdan is a Turkish-language term that denotes origin from fagositoz (phagocytosis). The word combines fagositoz with the suffix -dan, meaning from or originating from. In English-language immunology, the term is not standard, and its use is largely confined to Turkish-language texts and discussions about phagocytosis-derived processes or products.

Fagositozdan sits in the broader context of phagocytosis, a cellular process by which specialized cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and dendritic cells, ingest and destroy particles such as microbes, apoptotic cells, and debris. The sequence typically involves recognition of targets by surface receptors, engulfment to form a phagosome, and subsequent maturation through fusion with lysosomes to create a phagolysosome, where contents are degraded. Components from phagocytosis can participate in antigen presentation, inflammatory signaling, and tissue remodeling.
