Exoplanetides are solid, rocky bodies that orbit stars outside of our solar system, similar to asteroids and comets in our own solar system. These objects are remnants from the formation of their host planets. When a star forms, it is surrounded by a protoplanetary disk of gas and dust. Within this disk, planets accrete material, and any leftover material can coalesce to form smaller bodies like exoplanetides.
