Estudam

Estudam is the third-person plural present indicative form of the Portuguese verb estudar, meaning "to study." It is used with subjects such as eles, elas, or vocês to describe that a group is studying in the present or as a general habit.

Estudar is a regular -ar verb. Its infinitive form comes from Latin studēre or studāre, reflecting the idea of applying oneself to learning. In the present indicative, the standard forms are eu estudo, tu estudas, ele estuda, nós estudamos, e eles/elas/vocês estudam.

Usage examples include: "Eles estudam matemática todas as noites." and "Vocês estudam para a prova amanhã?" The form "estudam" thereby marks the present tense for a plural subject in most varieties of Portuguese, including Brazilian Portuguese.
