Estejärjestelyjä

Estejärjestelyjä refers to arrangements made to overcome or bypass obstacles. In a legal context, it commonly pertains to inheritance law. In Finland, for example, the concept of "perillisten oikeuksien rajoittaminen" (restricting the rights of heirs) can be relevant. While a testator has considerable freedom to dispose of their property, there are legal limitations, particularly concerning the forced share of heirs or "vapaa sija perimysjärjestyksessä" (free place in the order of succession). Estejärjestelyjä can be employed to achieve certain outcomes, such as ensuring a specific heir receives a particular property or to minimize potential disputes among heirs. However, any such arrangements must comply with the relevant laws to be legally valid.
