Eskasoni

Eskasoni is a Mi’kmaq First Nation community on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is the largest Mi’kmaq community in the world by population. The community is located on the eastern part of Cape Breton, near the town of Sydney, and comprises reserve lands administered by the Eskasoni First Nation. The people maintain a strong Mi’kmaq language and cultural identity, supported by language programs and cultural institutions that emphasize revitalization and preservation.
