Erfarenhetslärandecykeln
Erfarenhetslärandecykeln, often translated as the experiential learning cycle, is a model describing how learning occurs through experience. Developed by David Kolb, it proposes a four-stage process that individuals move through to acquire knowledge and skills. The cycle begins with Concrete Experience, where an individual has a direct encounter with a new situation or activity. This is followed by Reflective Observation, where the learner pauses to think about and analyze the experience, considering what happened and why. The next stage is Abstract Conceptualization, where the learner forms general theories or concepts based on their reflections, attempting to understand the underlying principles. Finally, the cycle culminates in Active Experimentation, where the learner applies these new concepts to test them in different situations, leading to new experiences and thus restarting the cycle. This continuous loop of experiencing, reflecting, conceptualizing, and experimenting is central to how individuals learn and adapt throughout their lives. The model emphasizes that learning is an active process, not a passive reception of information, and that different individuals may emphasize different stages of the cycle based on their learning styles.
