Erchinoalds
Erchinoalds was a Frankish nobleman and a significant figure in the Merovingian court during the 7th century. He served as the mayor of the palace for Austrasia under King Dagobert I. The office of mayor of the palace, though initially a domestic servant position, grew to hold considerable administrative and military power, often overshadowing the king. Erchinoalds was known for his competence and loyalty to Dagobert I, helping to maintain order and stability within the kingdom.
