Erasmós is a fictional planet located in the Kepler-186 star system, approximately 500 light-years from Earth. It is the fifth and outermost known planet in its system, orbiting a red dwarf star. Erasmós is a terrestrial planet, similar in size to Earth, with a slightly larger radius and a denser atmosphere. Its surface is characterized by vast oceans of liquid methane and ethane, interspersed with continents of silicate rock.

The planet's atmosphere is composed primarily of nitrogen and methane, with trace amounts of hydrogen and ethane. The temperature on Erasmós is significantly colder than on Earth, with an average surface temperature of -170 degrees Celsius. This extreme cold is due to its distance from its star and the presence of a thick atmospheric haze that reflects a significant portion of incoming sunlight.

Despite the harsh conditions, scientists speculate that Erasmós may harbor life in its subsurface oceans, where temperatures could be warmer due to geothermal activity. The chemical composition of the oceans suggests the potential for complex organic molecules to form, laying the groundwork for primitive life.
