Epitopillovirus
Epitopillovirus is a genus of viruses within the family Poxviridae. These viruses are known for their large size and complex structure, characteristic of poxviruses. Epitopilloviruses infect a range of vertebrate hosts, with specific species targeting different animal groups. For example, certain epitopilloviruses are known to cause papillomatosis, or wart-like growths, in mammals. The name "epitopillovirus" itself is derived from the Greek "epi" meaning "on" or "upon," "pilos" meaning "hair" or "skin," and "virus," referring to the observed symptoms on the skin or hair of infected animals.
The genome of epitopilloviruses consists of double-stranded DNA. Replication of these viruses occurs within the cytoplasm
