Enzymkinetika, also known as enzyme kinetics, is the study of the rates of chemical reactions catalyzed by enzymes. It is a fundamental area of biochemistry that focuses on understanding how enzymes interact with their substrates and how these interactions affect the reaction rate. The primary goal of enzymkinetika is to determine the rate at which an enzyme converts a substrate into a product, and to understand the factors that influence this rate.

The rate of an enzymatic reaction is typically measured by monitoring the change in concentration of the substrate or product over time. The Michaelis-Menten model is a widely used mathematical model in enzymkinetika that describes the relationship between the reaction rate and substrate concentration. Temperature affects the rate of reaction by altering the kinetic energy of the molecules, while pH can influence the ionization state of the enzyme and substrate, affecting their ability to interact. Inhibitors are substances that bind to the enzyme and reduce its activity, either by competing with the substrate for the active site or by altering the enzyme's conformation.
