Embratel, short for Empresa Brasileira de Telecomunicações, is a Brazilian telecommunications company that provides long-distance and international telephony, data communications, cloud and IT services, and other value-added solutions to enterprises, government, and wholesale customers. It operates a broad national network and international points of presence, offering IP, MPLS, VPN, bandwidth leasing, hosting, security, and managed services. The company also runs Embratel Star One, a satellite communications operator delivering fixed and mobile backhaul, broadcasting, and data services across Brazil and the Americas.
