Elupaiku

Elupaiku is a term used in ecology and environmental science to describe a habitat signature—a spatially explicit profile that summarizes the resources, conditions, and structural features that define a living space for a species or ecological community. An elupaiku combines abiotic factors such as soil, moisture, temperature, and microclimate with biotic components like vegetation, prey availability, and interspecific interactions, within the context of the surrounding landscape, to facilitate comparison across sites and over time.
