Elongációban

In molecular biology, elongation refers to the second stage of transcription, where RNA polymerase moves along the DNA template, synthesizing a complementary RNA molecule. This process involves the addition of nucleotides to the growing RNA chain. Similarly, during protein synthesis, elongation is the phase where amino acids are sequentially added to the polypeptide chain, guided by the mRNA sequence.

In cellular growth and development, elongation can describe the process by which cells increase in size.
