Ellenrizték

Ellenrizték is a Hungarian verb form found in older orthography and in some dialectal varieties. It represents the past tense, third-person plural, of the verb ellenrizni, meaning to check, verify, or cross-check information or records. In modern standard Hungarian the corresponding form is ellenőrizték, with the standard root ellenőriz- and the past tense suffix -ték. Therefore ellenrizték is usually regarded as a historical spelling variant and is most likely to be encountered in archival manuscripts, older legal documents, or stylistic texts that imitate older orthography.
