Elimäen

Elimäki is a former municipality of Finland. It was located in the province of Southern Finland and was part of the Kymenlaakso region. Elimäki was established in 1635. The municipality had a population of 7,565 as of 2005. The area of Elimäki was 384.53 square kilometers, of which 5.69 km² was water. The population density was 19.8 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The administrative center of Elimäki was the village of Elimäen kirkonkylä. The municipality was known for its agricultural landscape and the Elimäki church, a medieval stone church dating back to the 15th century. Elimäki was also home to several manor houses, including Mustila Arboretum, which is renowned for its collection of trees and shrubs.

In 2009, Elimäki was consolidated with other municipalities to form the new municipality of Kouvola. Following the merger, the name Elimäki continued to be used as a district within Kouvola. The former municipal area retains its distinct identity and characteristics.
