Eliguindo

Eliguindo is a fictional town in the valley of the Nare River, within the imagined nation of Veridia. It functions as a regional center for agriculture, crafts, and small-scale industry, and preserves a compact historic core. The climate and terrain support orchards, vineyards, and mixed farmland.

The name Eliguindo combines elements from the region’s historic languages; locally it is said to mean 'bright hill' or 'place of elms,' though exact origins vary by source.

Geographically, Eliguindo sits on terraced slopes with a riverine plain to the south. The area experiences a temperate climate with warm summers, cool winters, and moderate rainfall concentrated in spring and autumn. Soils are loamy and conducive to fruit production.

Founded in the early medieval period by agrarian settlers, Eliguindo grew as a market town after the construction of a regional road in the 12th century. It later developed crafts guilds and a guild hall, and survived through industrialization by diversifying into food processing and light manufacturing.
