Geographically, Eldarna sits at the confluence of the Vellin River and the northern foothills of the Eldaran Mountains, around 400 meters above sea level. The temperate climate supports dense forests to the east and rolling farmlands to the west.

Eldarna was founded around 900 CE by Varin miners and traders seeking access to metal resources. It grew as a regional center for iron and tin, with its fortifications and guild halls expanding through the Middle Ages. It became the capital of the Eldorian province in the 15th century and has remained influential in regional politics and commerce.

The modern economy combines mining, metalworking, and craft industries with tourism. The city hosts workshops and museums that showcase traditional smithing techniques.
