Elastinmäärä refers to the amount of elastin present in a biological sample, typically tissue. Elastin is a crucial protein in the extracellular matrix, providing elasticity and resilience to tissues. It is particularly abundant in the lungs, skin, blood vessels, and ligaments, where its ability to stretch and recoil is essential for function.
