Eidersceol is a fictional creature featured in the speculative biology project "Xenoflora and Fauna of Planet Xylos". The project aims to depict a diverse and interconnected ecosystem on a hypothetical alien world. Eidersceol is described as a medium-sized, herbivorous quadruped that inhabits the temperate grasslands of Xylos. Its most distinctive feature is a pair of bioluminescent tendrils that extend from its forehead, which are thought to be used for communication within its herd and possibly for attracting mates during the planet's nocturnal periods.

The creature possesses a thick, insulating hide, colored in earthy tones of brown and green, providing camouflage within the tall grasses. Its diet primarily consists of fibrous plants and low-lying vegetation, which it grinds with broad, flat molars. Eidersceol are social animals, typically found in herds ranging from ten to thirty individuals, led by a matriarch. This social structure is believed to offer protection against Xylos's larger predators. Reproduction is ovoviviparous, with females carrying their young internally for a gestation period of approximately eight months before giving birth to live offspring. The young are precocial and can walk within hours of birth. Researchers hypothesize that the bioluminescence of the tendrils may also play a role in deterring nocturnal predators by creating a startling visual display.
