Ehuds
Ehud is a figure mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, specifically in the Book of Judges. He was a left-handed judge who served as the second judge of Israel, succeeding Othniel and leading the Israelites to freedom from Moabite oppression. The biblical account describes Ehud as delivering a message to Eglon, the king of Moab, who had oppressed Israel for eighteen years. Ehud created a dagger, which he strapped to his right thigh despite being left-handed, allowing him to pass through security unnoticed. After presenting his tribute, Ehud told Eglon he had a secret message and assassinated the king with the dagger. This act enabled the Israelites to launch a successful rebellion against Moabite rule, establishing Ehud as a deliverer of Israel for eighty years. The story highlights themes of cleverness, resourcefulness, and divine intervention in Israel's history.
