The EVAP system, or Evaporative Emission Control System, is a crucial component in modern vehicles designed to prevent gasoline vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. These vapors, if released, contribute to air pollution and can be hazardous. The EVAP system captures these volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the fuel tank and other parts of the fuel system and stores them in a charcoal canister. Once the engine reaches optimal operating temperature, these captured vapors are then drawn into the engine and burned, much like regular fuel.
