EUvaltioiden
EUvaltioiden (European Union member states) are the countries that are part of the European Union (EU). The EU is a political and economic union of 27 member states, each of which has its own government and is represented by its own national parliament. The member states share a common set of laws, policies, and institutions, which are governed by the EU treaties. The EU was established in 1993, following the Maastricht Treaty, which created a political union among its member states. The EU has since expanded to include more countries, with the most recent additions being Croatia in 2013 and Bulgaria and Romania in 2007. The EU member states are located in Europe, with the exception of Cyprus, which is located in the Eastern Mediterranean. The EU is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, and has a number of other institutions and bodies located throughout Europe. The EU member states work together on a range of issues, including trade, security, and environmental protection, and are committed to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in Europe and beyond.
