EURMWh

EUR/MWh, or EURMWh, is the standard quotation unit for wholesale electricity prices in many European markets. It represents euros per megawatt-hour of delivered energy. The notation EUR/MWh or EURMWh is widely used in market data and price quotes.

Prices in EUR/MWh are used for day-ahead, intraday, and futures contracts. Market operators such as EPEX SPOT, Nord Pool, and related electricity exchanges publish price data and settlement values in EUR/MWh. The unit enables direct comparison across markets, generation sources, and time horizons.

Conversions: 1 MWh equals 1,000 kilowatt-hours, so 1 EUR/MWh equals 0.001 EUR/kWh. Conversely, a price of X EUR/MWh corresponds to X * 1,000 EUR per GWh. The unit does not measure energy itself, but the price of that energy in euros.

Context: Since European electricity market liberalization, EUR/MWh has become the common unit for transparency and trading. It is used by price indices, market reports, and contracts across the European Union and other European markets.
