Dôleitú

Dôleitú is a town and municipality in the eastern part of Valoria, a fictional country. It lies in the Dúvik Hills along the Vel River and has a temperate climate. The municipality has about 4,800 residents and serves as a local administrative and cultural center.

The name Dôleitú is believed to derive from the Dólian word for “important,” reflecting its historic role as a crossroads for trade. Local legend also associates the name with a 12th‑century hero.

Founded in the 12th century around a river crossing, Dôleitú gained town privileges in the 14th century. It developed as a craft and market town, expanded with rail access in the 19th century, and modernized in the late 20th century.

The valley floor is used for orchards and pastures; the surrounding hills are forested. The climate features warm summers, cool winters, and regular precipitation.

The economy combines agriculture, woodworking, and light manufacturing, with tourism tied to the historic Market Square, the cathedral, and riverside trails.

Dôleitú hosts a biennial market festival and maintains a regional dialect of the Dólian language. Notable landmarks include the Market Hall and Dôleitú Cathedral.

The municipality is governed by a mayor and council, providing education, libraries, and public services, and coordinating with neighboring districts through a regional council.
