Duxerat

Duxerat is a Latin verb form. It is the third-person singular pluperfect active indicative of ducere, meaning “he had led” or “he had brought.” It derives from the Latin verb ducere, which means to lead, conduct, or bring.

In usage, the pluperfect tense expresses an action that was completed before another past moment or event. Duxerat appears in classical Latin texts to describe something that had already occurred earlier in the narrative or in a subordinate clause.

Formation and forms: The pluperfect active forms from the verb ducere; the principal parts of ducere are ducere, duxi, ductum. The 3rd person singular pluperfect ending is -erat, yielding duxerat. Other pluperfect forms from ducere include duxeram, duxeras, duxeramus, duxeratis, duxerant, corresponding to I, you, he/she/it, we, you all, they had led.
