DowDuPont

DowDuPont was a multinational chemical conglomerate formed in 2015 through the merger of Dow Chemical Company and DuPont. Created as a holding company, DowDuPont announced a plan to reorganize the combined business into three independent public companies, each focused on a different market segment, with the goal of unlocking value through specialization.

In 2017, the company announced a three-way split that would separate DowDuPont into Dow Inc., Corteva Agriscience, and DuPont de Nemours. The spinoffs were completed in 2019: Corteva Agriscience became the independent agriculture company combining Pioneer seeds and crop-protection products; Dow Inc. became a materials-science company focusing on plastics, coatings, and other performance materials; and DuPont de Nemours continued as a diversified specialty chemicals company serving industries such as electronics, construction, packaging, and nutrition and biosciences.

Headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, DowDuPont operated globally with a broad portfolio spanning materials science, agriculture, and specialty chemicals. Following the split, the three successor companies adopted distinct brands and corporate identities: Dow Inc., Corteva Agriscience, and DuPont de Nemours, each continuing to trade publicly on major stock markets.

Today, DowDuPont exists as a historical reference for the 2015 merger and the subsequent 2019 three-way separation. The three successor companies collectively carry on the legacy of DowDuPont in different sectors of the chemical and agricultural industries.
