Doménstruktúra

Doménstruktúra refers to the hierarchical organization of domain names within the Domain Name System (DNS). At the highest level are the top-level domains (TLDs), such as .com, .org, and .net, as well as country-code TLDs like .hu or .de. Beneath each TLD, a domain name can be further subdivided into subdomains. For example, in the domain name example.com, "com" is the TLD and "example" is a second-level domain. If a larger organization managed multiple services, they might create subdomains like mail.example.com or web.example.com.

This structure allows for the efficient and scalable management of the internet's naming system. Each level of the hierarchy is managed by a specific entity. For instance, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) oversees the root DNS servers and the allocation of TLDs. Registrars then manage the registration of second-level domains under various TLDs. The hierarchical nature ensures that domain names are unique globally and can be resolved to corresponding IP addresses through a distributed database system. This organized approach is fundamental to how users navigate the internet.
