Dohánynövények

Dohánynövények refer to plants belonging to the genus Nicotiana, which are primarily known for their leaves containing the stimulant alkaloid nicotine. These plants are cultivated worldwide, with the most common species being Nicotiana tabacum and Nicotiana rustica. The cultivation of tobacco has a long history, dating back to indigenous peoples in the Americas.

The leaves of these plants undergo a curing process, typically through air-curing, flue-curing, or sun-curing, to prepare them for various uses. The primary use of cured tobacco leaves is in the production of tobacco products such as cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, and snuff.
