Diszperzánsokat, often translated as dispersants, are chemical additives used to stabilize suspensions and emulsions. Their primary function is to prevent particles from aggregating or settling out of a liquid medium. This is achieved by adsorbing onto the surface of the dispersed particles, creating repulsive forces that keep them separated. These repulsive forces can be electrostatic, steric, or a combination of both.

Electrostatic dispersants work by imparting a charge to the particle surfaces. When particles carry the same charge, they repel each other, maintaining their dispersion. Steric dispersants, on the other hand, function by attaching long polymer chains to the particle surfaces. These chains create a physical barrier that prevents particles from coming into close contact and agglomerating.
