Diszpergálók

Diszpergálók, also known as dispersants, are substances that promote the separation of particles in a liquid medium, preventing them from aggregating or settling. They are crucial in various industrial and everyday applications where stable suspensions or emulsions are required. These compounds typically work by adsorbing onto the surface of the dispersed particles, imparting either a steric or electrostatic barrier that repels neighboring particles.

Electrostatic stabilization occurs when the dispersant molecules carry a charge, creating an electrical double layer around each particle. Like charges repel each other, keeping the particles apart. Steric stabilization involves dispersants with long polymer chains that extend into the liquid. When particles approach, these chains overlap and create a repulsive force due to steric hindrance and osmotic effects.
