Distributionsledd

Distributionsledd is a Norwegian term (literally "distribution link") used in several technical fields to denote a structural element that participates in distribution within a system. The word is formed from distributions (distribusjon/fordeling) and ledd (link, segment, or joint). The term is not universally standardized and its exact meaning depends on context.

In mechanical engineering and robotics, a distributionsledd refers to a joint or link in a mechanism whose function is to distribute motion or force among connected parts. Such an element can affect how torque is shared among limbs, how speed is transmitted, or how loads are balanced across a structure. Typical examples include a rotary joint in a manipulator or a slotted link in a conveyor system.

In logistics and supply chain contexts, distributionsledd may denote a distribution node or link within a network where goods are routed, stored, or cross-docked. It represents the point at which flow is divided or consolidated before continuing toward end customers.

In electrical or information networks, the term can describe a point where power or data is distributed to several branches, such as a distribution panel or a network splitter.
