Determinerhead
Determinerhead is a term used in linguistics to denote the functional head of the determiner phrase (DP). In many generative-syntax frameworks, the determiner phrase is headed by a determiner (D), a functional category that encodes features such as definiteness, number, and sometimes demonstrativity. The determiner head acts as the syntactic and semantic anchor of the DP, selecting or licensing the noun phrase as its complement and determining its reference in discourse.
