Demultiplexálják is a technical term, primarily used in telecommunications and digital signal processing. It refers to the process of separating a single multiplexed data stream into its original, individual components. Multiplexing is the technique of combining multiple signals or data streams into a single channel, often for efficient transmission. Demultiplexing, therefore, is the inverse operation.

Imagine a single cable carrying signals from several different telephones. Multiplexing combines these signals onto that one cable. Demultiplexálják is the process that happens at the receiving end, where a device (a demultiplexer) takes the combined signal from the cable and separates it back into the individual telephone signals, allowing each call to be routed correctly.

In digital systems, demultiplexing is crucial for handling data from various sources. For instance, in a network switch, incoming data packets might contain information destined for different computers. A demultiplexer within the switch would analyze the packet's header and direct the data to the appropriate output port. This ensures that data reaches its intended recipient without interference from other traffic. The term is also applicable in areas like video broadcasting, where multiple video channels can be transmitted over a single frequency band and then demultiplexed at the receiver.
