Demokritosz was a prominent ancient Greek philosopher, known primarily as one of the founders of atomism. He was born in Abdera, Thrace, around 460 BCE and is believed to have lived a very long life, possibly over 100 years. Demokritosz was a prolific writer, though unfortunately, most of his extensive works have been lost to history.
