The Demidovs were a prominent Russian noble family of serf origin who rose to prominence in the 17th and 18th centuries. The dynasty was founded by Grigory Demidov, a blacksmith from Tula, whose sons Nikita and Akinfiy Demidov became wealthy industrialists. Nikita Demidov was a key figure in the development of the Ural Mountains' iron and copper industries, establishing numerous factories and mines. His brother Akinfiy continued this expansion, further solidifying the family's immense wealth and influence.
