Debetkaartides
Debetkaart is a term originating from Estonia, referring to a debit card. A debit card is a payment card that allows individuals to withdraw cash and make purchases using funds directly from their bank account. Unlike credit cards, which allow users to borrow money, debit cards draw from pre-existing funds. When a debit card transaction is made, the money is immediately deducted from the linked bank account. This offers a convenient way to manage spending and avoid accumulating debt, as users can only spend what they have available. Debetkaarts are widely accepted at point-of-sale terminals and ATMs, both domestically and internationally, depending on the card network (e.g., Visa, Mastercard). They are often issued by banks and financial institutions as part of a checking or savings account package. Security features such as PIN codes and chip technology are standard to protect against unauthorized use.
