Daxi

Daxi, also known as Daxi District, is a district located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It is situated in the northern part of the city and is one of its most populous districts. Daxi is historically significant, with a past deeply connected to the development of the region and its role as a trading post.

The district is well-known for its preserved old streets, particularly Daxi Old Street, which features Baroque-style architecture. This area attracts many visitors who come to experience the historical ambiance, sample local snacks like tofu and pistachio ice cream, and shop for traditional crafts. The Daxi Bridge, a prominent landmark, spans the Daxi River and offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape.

Daxi's economy is a mix of agriculture, industry, and tourism. The fertile land in the surrounding areas is conducive to farming, while the district also hosts several industrial parks. Tourism plays an increasingly important role, driven by its cultural heritage and natural attractions. The district is also home to the Cihu Mausoleum, the final resting place of former Republic of China President Chiang Kai-shek, which is a significant site for memorial tourism. Public transportation connects Daxi to other parts of Taoyuan and beyond, facilitating both local commutes and visitor access.
